Put a spring in your step with a selection of English music dating from the sixteenth century to the moden era, from the lively rhythms of Elizabethan medrigals to the shimmering wonders of Vaughan Williams. Many of the songs liberally sprinkled with the magic of Shakespeare's words. The composers this evening include Thomas Weekes, John Bennet, Thomas Morley and John Rutter, whose Birthday Madrigals bring a light touch to the programme!!

After twp piano duets by Williams and Walton, the evening finishes with Serenade to Music when the Bard's romantic words cast their inimitable spell....
